Vindilis
Harrison Butler's own boat, desigined by him and built for him in 1936.
Vindilis
We replaced almost all the ribs, and completly refastened the hull, including all keelbolts, stem and dead wood bolts.
Vindilis
Interior painted out prior to refitting furniture. Note the new bronze floors fastened through with 1/2 inch copper rivets.

Launch day. The deck was refastened and a new self draining cockpit built reusing most of the old teak.
Saving Grace
Lymington L class, designed by Laurent Giles and built in 1939. She had been out the water for some years but was generally original.
Saving Grace
We fitted a new transom and section of stem, new bronze floors, built a new cock pit and fitted a Beta diesel engine with stainless tanks etc.
Saving Grace
The cabin sides and coamings were replaced along with the coach roof which was canvas covered. The decks were repaired and Epoxy classed.

Launch day, painting and varnishing is a big part of it and can be very challenging.
Saving Grace
After her first season all seems well and looking good.
Panda Mor
Some accident repairs on a bigger vessel, carried out afloat in Tobermory harbour, makes for a nice change.
Panda Mor
The sun shone all the time and we caught up with old friends.
Flying 15
This cold moulded Flying 15 came to us with some rotten areas in the laminated skin.

On further investigation it was decided to strip back and rebuild the whole affected area including a section of keel.
Danish Kotter
Fore deck hatch on major rebuild and convertion.
Danish Kotter
Decking the eliptical stern.
Danish Kotter
Iroko sunken deck house.
Danish Kotter

New stem and planking. Heavy shipwright work is so different to yacht joinery but is very enjoyable as well.
Ferryman
Uffa Fox Ichen ferry design. We fitted a new stem head and planked up to it, also the fore deck and hatches etc. She is a lovely little gaffer.
Thought to be built in Kippen around 70 years ago.

Restored along with the owner.

She was re-timbered, had a new transom, stem, fore foot and much more.

MFV Black cat ll
Due to rot caused by rain water ingress, over a long period, through the covering board we replaced two thirds of one side.
Frames, beamshelf, deck beams, hull planking, knees, deck planking and bulwarks were all renewed along much of the length. New oak stantions were fitted along with bulwark planking and capping.
