We can build you any wooden boat design you wish, as well as our smaller traditionally built clinker boats we build in carvel, cold moulded wood, strip plank or plywood. We can accommodate projects up to 50ft and are always happy to discuss your ideas.
We have worked closely with designers and owners over the years to produce boats matched to the owners needs.
Some owners know exactly what they want and and we interpret their ideas into a new boat, with others we work closely together to define the right features and draw up sketches or models.
Fishing Skiffs
Next year we hope to build the first of a new class based on the fishing skiffs of the west of Scotland.
The boat we will build will be clinker larch on oak with a characteristic round stern on a raked sternpost. Lug rigged with jib on a bowsprit.
She will be 18ft X around 5ft 6 beam with centre board and perhaps a small inboard engine.
Ease of trailering is esential.
