Launching day, this boat proved to sail and row well. She was also fitted with a small electric outboard. Larch plywood was used for the skin with solid Larch fit out. This finished in a natural oil varnish with cotton feel sail cloth made for a very beautiful vessel.
This is a rowing version of the previous boat. She is 17ft in length and set up for four oars, as in the others she has a flat bottom which allows her to be run right up the beach and makes for ease of getting in and out dry footed, and retrieving to a trailer.
Under construction, these boats can be built to a tight budget in a good painted finnish for mainly rowing, or at the other extreme can be built of the fore mentioned larch plywood from Germany as a quite sophisticated sailing skiff.

Above, are examples of a range of flat bottomed skiff built from a design by Iain Oughtred, which was originally developed with us for use in boat workshops with youngsters.

Below, we also build traditional clinker dinghies and boats to a very high standard. These can be to any size or specification eg. rowing sailing as below, launches diesel electric or steam, fishing boats etc.
Tarbert punt is built of Brazilian Mahogany on oak and fitted out in solid scottish larch. this boat was built purely as a row boat, but would easily carry sails or with a bit more buoyancy aft would carry an outboard motor. She is 12ft 6 but the design can be adapted easily.
This boat was built to fit the customers requirements for a boat to fit into his boat house but able to carry three adults and two dogs and be propelled by oars and electric outboard motor. She is larch on oak with mahogany sheer strake and fit out.
Copper and bronze fastened through out with only the finest timbers and workmanship, a boat like this can easily last for fifty years, and even longer if well looked after.
